About the Artist
Clark Kelley Price (b. 1945, Idaho Falls, Idaho) is a renowned American Western painter known for his dramatic storytelling and authentic portrayals of cowboy life, horses, and frontier landscapes.
Raised in Montana and Idaho, Price grew up surrounded by wildlife, mountain landscapes, and the traditions of the American West. Living in a log cabin built by his parents and spending time outdoors helped shape his deep appreciation for nature and the Western way of life. These early experiences continue to influence the themes and atmosphere found throughout his artwork.
Price received formal training in art at Ricks College and Brigham Young University, earning a bachelor’s degree in oil painting. Since becoming a full-time artist in 1973, his work has been widely collected and exhibited throughout the United States and internationally.
His paintings often focus on the emotional character of Western life—capturing moments of solitude, courage, and connection between people, animals, and the land. Known for his attention to mood, light, and narrative storytelling, Price’s work has been compared with that of many master Western artists.
